Dear Fellow Baldwin Stocker Families:
I can't believe that summer has zoomed by again and it is time to start preparing for the return to school. I am proud to serve as your PTA President for the 2008 - 2009 school year. Welcome to everyone, old and new, to the wonderful world of Baldwin Stocker Elementary School.
Your Baldwin Stocker PTA Board has been working hard this summer so that this school year will be filled with fun, entertaining and educational activities and programs for all the students and their families. The PTA is here to enhance the school experience for the entire family. We will sponsor educational assemblies for the students, informative programs, family fun nights, special cultural festivals, Grandparents day and many other events for the entire family.
PTA is a non-profit, volunteer run organization. We are comprised of moms, dads, the principal, the teachers, the staff and other concerned community members. This year I have chosen the theme, "PTA Giving our Children V.O.I.C.E. - Volunteers Organized to Improve Children's Education". This was chosen as our theme to show the strong bond between our children's school and home life. We need everyone involved to enhance the educational opportunities of all our students. The PTA will meet the second Tuesday of every month in the Multi-Purpose Room. These meetings will run from 7:00 pm until approximately 8:00 pm. Everyone is not only welcome, but are encouraged to attend. We will post each month's agenda on the bulletin board outside the office at least several days prior to each meeting. Please join us for our first meeting on September 9th.
Monthly PTA meetings are a great place to network with other parents. Discussing common problems allow us all to see that our students share many of the same problems and fears. If you are not already a member of the Baldwin Stocker ListServe, I hope you will consider signing up. Our Principal, Mrs. Hillman and the PTA will use the ListServe to keep families informed about important events at school. So please, do not miss out on this great tool to stay connected to your school.
One of my goals for 2008 is to make each parent more aware of what the PTA means to you and your student. Together we can do great things to help our students, our school and our community. Please join and help us give our children a school experience they will never forget.
Please review the contents of this packet carefully as there are mandatory forms that must be completed and returned to school. There are requests for you to join the PTA and if possible, to contribute to Baldwin Stocker through PTA's Direct Donation campaign. Remember that all donations to the PTA go to add to the educational experience for your student.
If you have any questions or concerns during this year, please contact me. I am here to help you and your students succeed in every way possible.
