Construction Updates

Summer 2008 -

Yes, the first physical signs of the Highland Oaks School renovation have appeared! Temporary fencing and grading have begun east of the portables on Virginia to ready the area for the six portable classrooms and restroom due to arrive near the end of June. These portable classrooms will house classrooms as they are renovated for the next 18 months. Due to the extraordinary support of our community and passing of Measure I the first phase of the renovation will include painting and technology upgrades in rooms 10, 11, 12, and 13, and the removal of the entire administrative offices. The Office and Health Office will be in Room 22 near the east end of the parking lot on Virginia until the new building is completed in approximately one year. The office will be re-built closer to the street and a state of the art Library and Media Center will be built to the south of the new office area. Each classroom will receive state of the art technology for enhanced presentation of instruction and learning to include interactive Smart Boards, plasma screens, lcd projectors mounted on the ceiling, document cameras, a presentation cart to control all technology, wireless capacity for laptops and more. We are so excited to provide such an outstanding learning environment for our students.
