Longley Way PTSA 2009-2010 Jump in and Have fun Volunteering with our Kids…….. Dear Longley Way Parents,
The Longley Way PTSA has committed itself to helping parents understand the importance of supporting their children in school activities. We encourage parents and community members to be informed about education issues in order to understand and support our school.
The "P" in PTSA stands for Parent and symbolizes the vital partnership between home and school. All individuals in the school community are part of the PTSA team. By working together, parents and school personnel can help ensure successful school experiences for all students. Promoting a better understanding of PTSA programs and purpose will help the PTSA membership to be more effective in its youth-serving activities. Longley Way PTSA provides the setting for parents, teachers, principal, staff, and community members to come together to improve the lives of children through programs and activities. We are asking for your support by joining our PTSA. The dues are $ 5.00 per person. A family membership of $12.00 includes a small donation toward our membership goal. With your support, we can strengthen the home-school connection through parents and staff working together to produce workshops, parent information evenings, newsletters, and other activities.
Some of the programs the Longley Way PTSA will be doing this year are: Kindergarten Tea ~ Red Ribbon Week ~ Accelerated Reader ~ Family Reading Nights ~Community Food Drive ~ Reflections ~ Honorary Service Awards/Variety Show ~Book Fairs ~ Family Fun Nights ~ 5th Grade Colonial Days ~ 4th Grade California Days ~Open House dinner ~ Carnival ~ 5th Grade Yearbook and Promotion Party
Your membership in Longley Way PTSA will strengthen our ability to provide the best learning environment for all our children. Please be advised that your membership in PTSA does not mean you will be called to volunteer. However, volunteers are an integral part of Longley Way School and your time and dedication are greatly appreciated. We have not reached 100% membership in four years. Please help us reach our goal of 100% this year. Your membership signifies you being a member of the Longley Way Family. Thank you very much for your consideration.
